NU basketball is cursed. We just are. We are not meant to ever be happy as NU fans. You knew with 20 seconds left and a lead and the ball that we would figure out how to lose. And we did. We almost always do.

Why the hell does Mac pick this game to be the worst game of his life?

Oh well..... can't say we're not used to this feeling.

Hoops is going to have to break through the Fitz model of getting us to the point of having big games and then crapping our pants in them.

We did the football prevent defense and tried to run out the clock. Our possessions after the 6 pt lead with 6 to go, were just awful. Did we get a single good shot? (besides Mac's runner late). We ran the shot clock down each time and let BMac handle the ball with under 10 secs on the shot clock. He went 1-6 from the field with 1 turnover during those last 6 minutes.

Maybe draw up another play for someone else??? There was no doubt Linsdey or Law were better options last night, and maybe finding Tap loose for a 3. Maybe run a pick and roll with Lindsey/Law instead of BMac. It was the same crap on the last 10 possessions.

Bmac ran out of gas. I saw some decent movement with missed passes for easy baskets by a ton of players because of a slight hesitation. They'll need a bit more seasoning to consistently play at a high level, but the signs are there. And the depth will only improve when falzon returns later this year...

Coaches and players change, but the script does not. I can recall NU leading top seed MSU at the BIG tourney with Evan Eschmeyer scoring 30 points and the United Center roaring, and then the Cats blowing it by two at the end (O'Neill). Or how about the second round NIT game at a packed Horizon, blowing a late lead against DePaul (Falk). Or the Michigan and Ohio State games at home late in the Shurna's next-to-last season( Carmody). This is a continuing pattern here
