I feel okay. Would have been nice to use Olah more in the 2nd half, and I know Collins will take some heat for that. BUT, it wouldn't hurt Olah to be a little more assertive. He gets a little complacent on offense sometimes, and it also wouldn't hurt him to tell BMac, "Get me the damn ball" occasionally. Guaranteed if he says that, BMac will make sure the rock finds him.

Agree. Cats looked like they belonged on the floor with an excellent UNC team. The definitely played "up" to the level of the competition.

UNC was missing their best player Paige. They are gonna be really good when they get him back. They struggled a bit from the outside when we made our runs.

I thought MacIntosh was forcing things a little bit too much in the 2nd half, but he really didn't have much choice, as noone was making shots.

UNC just wasn't a good match-up for us with their athletic bigs. And we were just horrible guarding the baseline with our zone.

Yes, keep in mind that UNC was missing by far their best player who is a guaranteed NBA guy. And of course we were missing one of our best players in the second half even though he was on the court.

Mr. Optimism strikes again! lol
Tell me, Doc. Do you find an 11-point loss to UNC w/o Law and Skelly disappointing?

Why don't you guys put each other on "Ignore" and save yourselves some stress?
Well anyone could see how my post would lead to that response from him. Clearly I was looking for a fight with my extreme negativity. /s

Are you kidding!? Doc's posts can be very entertaining (albeit head-scratching). Usually because he's always eating his own words, like his reaction to NU's win over Wiscy on Sat. Or his ripping on Kale Abrahamson who just scored 41 points for Drake.

It wasn't a bad game from us at all, but disappointing in the end. We actually shot really well from 3 and kept it even on the foul line. The difference in the game was the fact that we got absolutely bullied on the boards to the tune of -14. UNC put up 10 more FG attempts than we did, which ended up winning them the game. Having Skelly and Law really would have helped our rebounding, but really what's the excuse for not putting your ass into a man and getting a board?

Our guys seem to be constantly leaping for the ball with arms outstretched, which is exactly how you get outrebounded by a team that has solid fundamentals and puts their ass into you and never gives you a chance to get the ball. I get that part of it is the zone, but it honestly sucks to watch our feeble attempts at rebounding the ball.

Sanjay blocked out some guys who were 4 inches taller than him and got a couple fouls called against them. And Sanjay rarely loses a guy on defense. I don't think it was Collin's plan to have Sanjay be his most effective 4 defender again this year.

Several times last night just a little bit of baseline movement by NC created completely open looks underneath NU's zone. Way too easy looks that close to the basket.

Honestly, you need to spend a whole lot less time paying attention to me. The fact that you can remember anything I posted about Kale Abrahamson (let alone something negative about his playing ability which I don't remember) tells me you have some odd fixation that is a bit disconcerting. I can't remember anything you posted 2-3 years ago other than that I'm sure you were being nasty about it.

Pretty much this. We kept it close because of some hot shooting/good offense but we look like a poor defensive/rebounding team again and that will kill you against a top team like UNC.

Yes, UNC was without their best player. But every player the Heels put on the floor was better than their NU counterpart. The talent discrepancy was just amazing. Roy Williams does less with more than any coach in America. Credit the Cats for playing their asses off for 40 minutes. No quit on that team.

I think the encouraging thing I took away was that we battled and other than that one stretch midway through the second half, we made it a ball game. Now, sometimes this happens because the heavy favorite has an off night, but I don't think that was the case at all in this game. I thought NC played great. And, they had to play great to beat us. That is encouraging.

I thought VACat was a female alum? Seriously - not trying to offend. Thought I remember reading that long ago.

I wouldn't count on it. Olah was begging for the ball against Columbia but BMC didn't necessarily give it to him. We got a good team minus Law. We may have had a NIT with Law but I think we have a good chance to win 16 or maybe 17 games. And the ones we lose, I think we will stay competitive in most of them.
