Some Nebby thoughts...

• #40 Kenpom, 13-2, 2-2 could be a whole lot worse with Falzon and Rap missing the season;
• Eeyor and his extended relatives make up the majority NU bball fans, but I'm pretty pleased and will take them one game at a time;
• Nebby is good. If NU isn't unconscious shooting in the second half and simply plays really well this could have gone to OT or a loss;
• Collins has improved the overall talent and certainly the length....but NU needs more beef;
• The color guy had an interesting comment about B Mac's numbers suffering with the loss of Olah, a guy he knew how to play off of;
• I am struck by the contrast in Lindsey and Demps....when Lindsey is isolated with the ball dribbling his eyes are up and he's looking to pass. Tre was doing the calculus on how to get a shot off. They could each use a bit of the other;
• The two free throws by Brown were huge and will be a major dose of confidence for him and his coach;
• Crazy good defense by the Cats was better than their shooting;
• The horrible officiating was epicly bad and hurt both teams.

I also was interested in the comments about Olah. Perhaps some insight into Mac's shooting issues we hadn't really thought of here.

Hidden factor: we went for offense for a while with Lumpkin on the bench and our defense was fine. Not in any way a criticism of Lumpkin, but a compliment to our defense.

If there is a major change from the past to this year's team, I'd say it is the ability to play pretty decent man defense.

Largely agree, but I think the officiating helped us, actually, since they didn't call a lot of cheap fouls, which meant that we were not in the type of foul trouble that forced us into bad match-ups in the Minny game.
