Without knowing the specific teams they will play it is impossible to comment on the level of competition.
Spanish pro basketball (as most European pro sport leagues) divide team in multiple "layers", and the level of competition varies widely between tiers....There are "five different competitions on the pyramid - the 1st tier Liga ACB, the 2nd tier LEB Oro, the 3rd tier LEB Plata, the 4th tier Liga EBA, and the 5th tier Primera División, which comprises the lower level regional divisions."....The ACB (top tier) is one of the strongest leagues below the NBA, anywhere...however, the level drops significantly even at LEB Oro....it is probably below Div. I basketball at the bottom tier....
In the US the nearest thing is the professional baseball system....with the level of competition varying enormously between rookie league and the majors....A significant difference is that in the European pro system, not only players change level...entire teams may be relegated/promoted at the end of the season depending on performance....Imagine that after each baseball season, the best few AAA teams are promoted to MLB every season, while the worst few MLB are dropped to AAA (and similar with the other levels)...In Europe the same club cannot have more than one affiliate at a given level.
So, who knows what level of competition the cats will face...one has to know the specific teams and check at which tier they will be playing (which may or may not be the same they had the previous season).
