One of the main differences between Stanford and OSU teams is the level of NFL talent:
OSU had many more first round picks: RB Carlos Hyde - ran for 150 yds. plus and a couple of TDs. Hyde is now the feature back on the 49ers; CB Bradley Roby - blocked the punt that cost us 7 points on that lousy spot at the half-inch line at the NU game when from my angle at the 10 yard line, the OSU player's foot who recovered the punt was on the line (Roby started every game for the Broncos last season) and LB - Ryan Shazier - another first round pick of the Steelers who had a great game v. 'Cats. I believe Shazier plays and maybe starts for the Steelers. Also, OSU 5th round pick Corey Linsley is a starter for the Packers at center. I am probably missing a couple of other OSU NFL draft picks from that team. So there is a difference in the talent levels and a reason why OSU is 38-3 in the past three seasons under Urbie Meyer.
NU has a great opportunity today as their game is the feature early national game on ESPN at 11 a.m. If it is a competitive game, it will play well nationally for recruits. Teddy G. says NU will lose but beat the spread.
