Sullivan's patience paid off in breakout performance against Maryland

This is a big game for Sullivan. He looked rough v PSU, not much better but W v Howard. Against Neb, his performance was a little like Bryant v PSU. Looked great against MD but they are a bottom half defense in the B1G. How will he do facing another really tough defense? No mistakes - no stupid INTs like PSU, no panicking in the pocket like NEB.

He's not a kid. It's his 3rd year in the program. He is 28th in all time passing yards as a Cat. He needs to step up.

That PSU interception looked like a fluke. Like the ball didn't come out of his hand right or something. I do not believe that ball went where he was trying to throw it. It was very weird.

Perhaps, but what about hitting the Maryland guy in the numbers in the Northeast end zone on Sat? Iowa will make him pay for that.

Sullivan showed impressive growth during the Maryland game: jumpy, indecisive in the pocket early on, more comfortable as the game progressed. His first td pass against Maryland reminded me of Kustok’s game winner against Michigan in 2000.

Hopefully his career trajectory will be like Kafka’s: for whatever reasons it took some time for him to see the field, but in the end he turned out to be a good QB.

That would be interception against Maryland makes up for the Hail Mary interception, he passed at the end of the first half against Nebraska, on his stat line.

He might have been trying to back shoulder a throw to the receiver. DB wasn't looking for the ball. Anyway, he was lucky it wasn't picked but that was one of the few bad decisions he made.
