Interesting comparison of NU and Stanford's stats from last season. For all the heat the NU offense has taken, it wasn't much worse than Stanford, averaging just 30 yards/game less. The big difference is defense: Stanford gave up 282 yards/game, while NU surrendered 384. The oddest stat? Stanford was penalized an average of only 6 yards/game, which is almost unreal. Must be a mistake.

ESPN has them at 630 total penalty yards, or 48 yards per game. For what it's worth, we were at 522 total penalty yards or 43 yards per game.
