This is quite a story. NU was his first offer. The other schools showing interest were South Dakota, Western Illinois, Illinois State, NIU and a few others. NU was the only Power Five school he ever talked to. He visited for a spring practice a couple weekends ago, came back for a visit today and committed on the spot. He's the first guy from Lakes High School to commit to NU.
He's pretty impressive on tape, IMO, and is a heck of an athlete. He finished third in the state last year as a sophomore with a jump of 23-2. That's explosive. I believe Matt Harris jumped around a 23, which should give you an indication of how impressive that is.
Needless to say, the kid is on Cloud 9. He feels like he's still dreaming.
