Talk about a lucky kid. D'Antonio played his first season of football last fall and has 21 offers -- though only two, from NU and Rutgers, from the Power Five. He picked up his first offer after his seventh game or organized football. (Honestly, that almost ticks me off.) He played baseball up until last year, when football coaches, who have been hounding him for years, finally got him to come out for football. He was a catcher in baseball, but at 6-4, 280, he said he was getting too big for baseball. Coaches think he has very good feet, obviously, and the fact that he's so raw means he has a big upside.

NU has been recruiting him for about a month. It was his first visit. Fitz offered him when he arrived on Friday and by the end of the night -- his overnight host was Rashawn Slater -- he knew he wanted to be a Cat.

Story will come later tonight or tomorrow morning.
