This put today's game in clear perspective for me: against my better judgement I let Little Hungry take a toboggan run on his own on our sled hill. He took a crazy right turn and went straight at the parked cars on Cannon Drive. I was sprinting in pursuit. I dove and snagged his collar a bit, but he fell back and got launched legs first into the side of a car. It was a solid impact, but thankfully legs and butt first.

I am a very calm person who rarely gets flustered, and thankfully I kept calm as I tried to determine how badly he was hurt. He was crying a lot, so it took some time to calm him down and get him to talk to me. But it looks like he just got banged up.

Needless to say, I am pissed and surprised at myself for having such bad jufgment. I feel like I dodged a bullet today. I don't want to be an overprotective parent, but. Man, that was a dumb move.
