You will find a new direction. You are young and you will rebound. I will not blame you if Northwestern is not part of your future plans. At a minimum, I hope you will look back this as a foundational moment in your lives, that you could elevate past it.
Regardless, even in the midst of a 1-11 season I was always proud of how hard you worked. You provided me with so much elation when you bravely battled with the likes of OSU and PSU ( I know the weather helped too - as the whiskey helped me). I hated seeing the defeated and deflated looks on your face against ILL and Pur-don't. Like the brothers before you, I will always be your fan.
Even though I may never know the full truth, Pat Fitzgerald is a great man and something I wish more people would aspire to be like despite any potential faults. I'm not very religious, but I pray for him and you tonight.
