I just want to thank every one for all the prayers and support of every kind.
Following my bicycle accident on Sept 8th I was released from the Mercy hospital to Mercy Rehab Center on Sept 16th. I was released from the Rehab Center on Sept. 28th and have been staying with friends as I cannot climb stairs to return to our Apt.On Oct 3 I was released from Homebound status which means I am allowed to go for out patient therapy and other activities as I am able.
Getting around with a broken Right thumb, left wrist and left hip is tricky but each day I get stronger and have less pain (actually my right shoulder now hurts the most as I have aggravated an old rotator cuff injury by leaning into the walker so hard. Go figure.)
Getting into the car from my wheelchair is not a problem so Lynn gets to push be around, much to her delight ;). I hope to go into the office for a couple of hours each day this week but I get really tired from reading; a result of the head injury I'm told.
Anyway, when I started posting on the board I never dreamed that I would encounter a virtual community that I would connect with in ways more important than football. so thank you.

Go Cats!!

Thanks for letting us hear of your progress. Wishing you the best for a full recovery.

Nice of you to post a thoughtful report on your current health. May God bless you with fast recovery and enable you to enjoy biking again. But pls only ride without risking your life!

Deering--each time you write about this, it seems worse than you said initially. Heal up man! You'll be back on the bike in no time. Seriously, look into an inflatable vest (Point two). Expensive but worth it--won't keep you from breaking an arm or leg, but if you protect your head and chest you're likely to come out of an accident better--rib injuries are quite painful as you know.

Get well soon.

I am currently recovering from rotator cuff surgery, so I know how lousy a sore shoulder can feel. I cannot fathom the pain and hardship that you must have endured and must still feel. I hope you heal quickly and well.
