You'd think that the Big Ten championship game would be a golden opportunity for Northwestern recruiting on the biggest of stages. But unfortunately, the NCAA treats conference title games like bowl games, so schools aren't allowed to invite players or provide tickets. So, any commits who go will have to buy tickets on their own.
DT commit Duke Olges will make the trip to Indy. The New Trier product has been going to NU games his whole life and will be there as a fan. It turns out that his family bought Northwestern season tickets this year for the first time, so he was able to get title game tickets through the school. He said that a few other commits would be there, but he wasn't sure which ones.
I also reached out to WR commit Bryce Kirtz earlier this week. He's from the Indianapolis suburb of Brownsburg, so I thought he might be a candidate to show up on his own. But it turns out he's not going, unless he gets a cheap ticket somehow at the last minute.
