The CFP is set

Two first round blowouts and a deja vu championship ,Brian Kelly boring the hell out of everyone with his South Bend blather right now.4 hours of espn stroking in what should be a 20 minute program .

Alabama was incredible in the first half against Florida last night. Turned it off at the half which I guess was a mistake. ND will be crushed.

It is ridiculous that two teams who have played each other twice claimed two of the four spots while other teams watch from the sidelines because "experts" decide who the four best teams are.

I would love for the CFP committee to have to make picks on winners of games each week and have their pick percentages on public display.

I think I'll join my wife's binge watch of "Emily in Paris" instead. The CFB Playoff has become beyond tedious.

NU has a lot of money riding on OSU status as Elite team. The fan base may not be the favorite but NU will cash the check. As stated above the bowls and the Bucks do a lot for Big non revenue sports. Some Big teams with losing records are opting out of Bowl games which is reasonable. The 2020 winning programs will hopefully all be able to travel safe and play. Have almost always watched New Years day games and love NU playing in one.

That was the BCS system, but everyone wanted a playoff.
Except those of us that knew it would be as stupid as the previous system.
Like replays. Boy they've eliminated any controversy
And overtime. Always ensures the deserving team wins
And get off my snowy lawn

I really think they need a hard-and-fast rule that losing your conference championship in regulation time to another playoff-bound team DQs you from the playoffs. I don't like rematches at all, but it's especially egregious when the two teams just played on a neutral field.

They wanted a tournament. They still want a tournament. But the powers that be want to protect the existing structure, so we're left with something not quite as bad as computer coronation, but not really a tournament.

Don't think we should want 19 and 20 year old's playing 16 or mora games a year. Thinking that the pros play around that amount but they get PAID!

They should say Alabama vs. Clemson for The Championship and call it a day. Let OSU and TSISB play a bowl game somewhere to appease their fan base and get it over with.
That's seems to be the the logical pick right now but I'm not so sure. That OSU team has been handicapped the whole year.....having a hard time playing two games in a row this year......20 to 25 players out on multiple occasions......on and on. That will take a toll on any team. Yes. I know they have all kinds of 4 & 5 stars but constant substitution will take a toll on any team's continuity.

And the other thing is I think OSU is pissed and seething right now. They've heard how Indiana belonged in the B1G CCG (ridiculous), and how Clemson will roll them again.....the 6 game schedule etc......

First, they had the right two teams in the CCG and even Tom Allen, while disappointed, admitted they needed to beat OSU in their head to head on the Fox Saturday show. And if you go back and watch last year's OSU-Clemson game and just look at the final stats, you'd have guess that OSU won. And they probably would have if their best receiver - Olave - wouldn't have cut the wrong way in the end zone on that final Fields interception. Add in that Swinney was saying all last week the no team (OSU) playing just 6 games belonged in the playoffs, well, this game could end up being very interesting.

Notre Dame vs Alabama ? Forget it, Alabama will roll them. Just don't see the talent and depth on ND to stand up 4 quarters against Alabama - the best team in CF.

But I really believe Bama, Clemson and OSU can each move the ball on the others' defenses. Florida certainly did against Alabama but just couldn't stop them on defense. The days of "defense wins championships" are over. Even Saban said as much recently

How many games do high school teams play? They have a multi-round playoff system, though I think their regular season is shorter.

Can you imagine the outrage in $EC country that two teams from the same conference, sort of, are in it, and that conference is NOT the $EC?

I'm not sure there's much outrage about that this year outside of College Station, TX. It's pretty clear that nobody in the SEC except Bama and possibly A&M are anywhere close to challenging Clemson, and the A&M case is shaky.

Jimbo will say all the right things in the media, but there's no way he'd sign up for a rematch with that Alabama team that blew them out early on in the season.

A&M got the best of both worlds, they're #5 and probably will move up to #3 at worst with a win in the Orange Bowl.

And they avoid getting blown out again by Alabama while claiming they should have been in...
