Pat said that everyone who was eligible to play (i.e. not hurt or currently being red shirted) played.
I began checking out each NU football participation list in the mid 1970's. I hope to live long enough to see another list like yesterday's, and I damn well hope that giving playing time to guys up and down the depth chart will help the program.
This veteran (football challenged) observer (burdened as he is with technical blind spots and a purple-hued irrational streak) suspects that NU's season will depend on: 1. The health and depth of the OL. (Oooh Scary!! A very old Second City reference for those young enough to have reasonable levels of testosterone or other hormone of choice.) 2. How the defense reacts when opposition QBs and receivers are in synch., as this has yet to happen. 3. Whether Thorson avoids big mistakes. 4. Luck, dammit.

You need to add the 22 starters, so it was 75 for NU. That is a LOT of players in one game.
(I find these reports aren't completely accurate, for example they have Queiro starting at LT and Mogus as a reserve!)
Yes...it also looks like they missed Cam Queiro as a participant...#53 was definitely out there on Saturday.
