GOUNU made a good point about giving credit to Barnett for the reason why NU BB is doing so great.

He mentions many things and it appears that Gary Barnett was the origin of the modern day revenue sports success at NU.

Curious, did NU have a solid golf team? Swimming? Wrestling? Lacrosse? or other successful non revenue sports prior to Barnett?

High Hopes went a lot further than Pasedena.

I will say this - I grew up on the south side of Chicago and a big sports fan. I never heard of Northwestern until 1995, I was 18 and not the caliber of student where NU would have been an option, but a big DePaul basketball fan and pro sport fan.

Odds are pretty good that your last name is Coleman.

Any chance you know what happened to Murray Silver....he was on 94th and Winchester. Second house from the corner, next to the Rodgers. Been trying to find him for a few years.

Edited to add: check that, the very large Coleman family lived on 93rd and Winchester, not 94th.
