NU has made it to the second round of Best Play. In the best tradition of Chicago, NU Athletics are encouraging us to "vote early and vote often".

Dererk is rightly getting props for making the shot that sent NU to the Dance. But which was bigger, The Shot or The Pass? I don't think Nate gets enough props for his pass. Degree of difficulty was of the charts, yet he made an unreal pass which led to an easy Pardon shot. For me, The Pass was bigger than The Shot but both guys deserve equal props for an amazing play.

The problem with the clip they play on ESPN's site is that they have loud music instead of the play by play voice. So, the non-NU fan may not know or had forgotten the deeper significance of that play beyond just it being a cool play. When you combine the degree of difficulty with the significance of the shot in college basketball history, it clearly deserves to beat out another game winner by Russel Westbrook.

To catch that pass was not easy. Catch in a little bit of traffic, turn and shoot with a defender flying through the air.

But the pass was just incredible. So happy for Tap that he's immortalized in NU lore with that one play. (versus the other one)

NU's play was far more difficult to execute. The NBA shot was sweet, but I've seen that kind of buzzer beater numerous times by numerous pros.

also, I'd say total team effort by Tap and Pardon - it took both of them executing awesomely to make the play.
