The rich get richer

I find very little of their commentary to be of interest. I feel the amt of time given to any school is in direct proportion to the presumed number of eyeballs represented by a particular school fan base. Don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure out where we stand.

The Ohio States, Michigans etc. will generally get more airtime. But this is one of the more blatant examples of favoritism on what is, ostensibly, a league network.

I have no problem with it. Eyeballs draw ad revenue, which flows as profits to the Big 10 schools. More $s are good for NU. Profiting off OSU? Priceless!

They're also, um, the No. 1 team in the nation. I don't like them either but they generally are of interest to football fans.

Smelly is right. If NU becomes National Champions this year you can bet that there will be something about them on some channel every day of the week.

It sees as if something called "Scarlet and Gray Days" is on the BTN every time I tune in lately.
Welll yeah, people will watch that. If we have Purple and White Days, the entire viewership will be people on this board and the player's moms. Hell, I can't even sit through the Pat Fitzgerald show.

If by favoritism you are saying that the Conference Network prefers in its programming the school and team that brings in the most money, then the answer is yet. Add to that the coach who generates interest, defending National Champinship, number one ranked team in the pre-season, 17 players on watch lists for National awards, a couple of Heisman candidates, and the number one ranked team in the nation heading into the season, then it's no surprise that the conference is showcasing them.

OSU will always be a showcase program and the spotlight will always be on as long as they are a national title contender. But the story will get old for non-Buckeye fans and I can see Michigan and the Harbaugh's show being center stage next year.

The BTN Ohio State clips are very cool imo-- really neat to watch the players close up plus to hear their comments -- yea, I know they know they are on camera. tOSU camp is intense -- guess it should be with a really BIG target on their back this year.

I note that Eddie George showed up in Columbus -- maybe Fitz could ask him to show up at our practice and say a few words. He is one of ours as well !

and, Go Cats !!

Ohio State is also the reigning national champion, and that brings prestige to the league. I don't have a problem with our league's network rewarding that with a little extra airtime.

Piss off, k. But come back again.
