Every year around this time i attend a local holiday high school tournament in San Diego. The national division with teams from all over the country is held at Torrey Pines High (kicker Jack Mitchell's school) near where I live in the Del Mar area. I noticed that Rapolas Ivanauskas with Brewster Academy, who signed with Northwestern will be playing in this tournament. I plan to see him and his team play this coming Monday at the Torrey Pines gym. Here is a link to the tournament website:

As an aside, I attended the Kansas-San Diego State game here at Viejas Arena last night. #2 ranked Kansas is an impressive team and overwhelmed the struggling Aztecs who tried to come back in the 2nd half. I have to think that the Jayhawks will be up there as a top team when the big dance rolls around. The 7-6 Aztecs are mediocre this year and probably will need to win the Mountain West conference tournament later in Las Vegas in order to make it in the big dance for the 7th straight year. Hope to see NU in the tourney this year. Go Cats!
