Other than what happened early and then Roper's injury NU remained relatively healthy. There were basically no other real injuries. Even one could have destroyed what they were working toward,

And one "injury" basically gave us the pause we needed for the exciting February run - COVID. Did we ever hear officially who had it?

He was out before he even played and likely was not slated to play much this year and likely they would have wanted to RS him (but that would have still allowed him to get into 10-12 games). Roper was another story as he was getting 20+ minutes per game and was likely counted on for significant contributions. Just saying we were pretty much down to the bare minimum after he went down so any additional injury could have torpedoed what turned out to be a magnificent surprise of a season.

I was thinking of making the same post. NU was very fortunate with injuries. Football team, particularly kickers and OL, could use a little of that.

Um - he played sparingly, like Mart did. Also BB had very limited minutes early on and MN didn’t even start.

The redshirt rule isn't the same as for football. From what I understand, check into a single game that isn't an exhibition and you've burned a season.

The 30% of games rule only comes into play for season-ending injuries qualifying a player for a medical redshirt. Otherwise you check into a regular season game and the shirt is burned.

6 games with very limited minutes. He was not ready and the injury cemented things
