I love McIntosh but our best offense is not running clock and Bryant creating his own shot.

Twice in the last 93 seconds was clock draining Mac time. I get that it's Coaching 101 to do that, but it's almost like just getting a shot clock violation with this squad.

That loss helped Crean. And if you guys are down on Collins, I'd gladly make a trade.

nobody is down on collins. good if crean stays at IU. he did have too man injuries this season and they are still a good team.

sounds a lot like WALKER.
I honestly didn't see the game as I was out tonight. I hate to say it we must go on but I just get they feeling this team is dog tired and mentally fatigued. I would be very surprised if we could beat Michigan or Purdue.
Disappointing but I think we are NIT bound.

I completely disagree. This team wants to be back out on the court right now after that loss. This team seems to bounce back after adversity. Remember when we beat Wisconsin after the heartbreaker vs Illinois. This team will play one of its best games this Wednesday and will beat Michigian in front of its home fans. Go Cats!

Well, they have a lot of adversity now! How many missed free throws tonight? If Lumpkin reaches in on the double team again, he should have his arms chopped off.

I love your optimism but I honestly don't think they physically or mentally have it left. It's to bad but we still don't have players to do it. I hope I'm wrong.

I completely agree that our end of game strategy needs to change. We cannot turtle like that and expect to win. BMac is not the kind of one on one break-you-down, always-get-a-good-shot kind of player that you run clearouts starting at 10'secpnds with. That's MJ. That's not BMac.

We blew this game at the end because we decided to change games from basketball to keep-away ... while Indiana continued to play, yes, basketball.

For a while there I was thinking this might be the only team in P5 power basketball history to have a 22-0 run go against them and still win the game.

But free throws and going turtle killed that. I'm very unhappy right now because this game was not only winnable - it took a confluence of freak occursnces to make it loseable. Yet we found a way to lose it.

Why did we turtle like that? When defenses have to take chances, that's when you take it to them. So frustrating. We need to do better. Our last two are serious challenges against much better teams.

Bring back BC and we wouldn't have to worry about going to NCAA'S.

Which is a ridiculous statement (not surprisingly)...

The 2010-11 or 2011-12 teams (even with their injury issues) would likely be in the same spot in a down B1G and weak bubble.

Wrong again. One of the major issues reared its head in 2010-2011 and 2011-2012. The former coach could not recruit on a Big 10 level and we had no power forward and forced players to play out of position such as Shurna trying to guard Sullinger of OSU or PSU beating us up on the glass in 2 key losses. All the former coach needed to do was go out there and recruit PFs who could grab some rebounds as Shurna became NU's all-time leading scorer for naught. Did it happen? No. And Shurna and Crawford would wind up guarding guys who were 2-4 inches taller or 20-40 lbs. heavier (50-60 lbs. heavier in Sullinger's case). If you can't recruit, you can't succeed at a power conference level. Too bad so many posters on this board can't figure that out. Collins has recruited athletic 4s and 5s in Skelly, Falzon, Pardon and Benson in his first three classes and addressed that glaring need. Athletic means guys who can move their feet and are a threat on both the offensive and defensive end (i.e. Big 10 caliber players).

I don't know why we can't just run our normal offense at the end of games, but only take a really good shot early in the shot clock. Heck we may even get a layup with 15 on the shot clock. And if we are gonna freeze it, start something with 15+ on the shot clock so we can run through multiple options. As I stated before, I wish BMac could get to the line more often in these late game situations. He just doesn't have the quickness and isn't able to use his body to draw fouls like Brown does on drives to the hoop. Brown is very good at embellishing to draw the call from the ref.
