And it's pretty cool. I had several conversations start from NC and Missouri fans where they were simply complimentary and respectful of our squad. "These guys are going to win a lot of games" was a frequent sentiment. Our guys deserve it too. They are putting out the effort and will learn from these close calls. As long as they show up for each game I will be proud of them.

Great time to be a wildcat fan.

We played our best game, by far against NC, imo, so I can see how they would be impressed. Missouri will be fortunate to win 10 games this year, so they will be impressed by a LOT of teams....

It was amazing how Mizzou turned themselves around in the game last night. They were pathetic for the first 10 minutes but never quit. They gained a little confidence and then the ball started rolling downhill for them.

Those fans obviously didn't see us play Columbia. B Mac was solid, but wow. I unfortunately see us struggling mightily without Vic Law's athleticism.

And here I thought from the thread title there might actually be something from an expert on a program or in print.

Dang.

Jay Williams on ESPN's college basketball coverage (one of their main college experts) has stated on repeated occasions that he thinks NU will make the tourney.

Yeah, I want nothing more than this team to make the tournament, but from the games I've watched so far, Vic Law's absence is going to make it extremely difficult for us to compete at the level we need to be at. For whatever reason, the defensive awareness is lacking in many players. Demps and Falzon constantly lose their man in the zone, Taphorn is too slow and doesn't move his feet enough, no one on the team is boxing out, and there are constant miscommunications that result in guys leaving their area of coverage because someone doesn't rotate over, which leaves an opposing player wide open. When B1G season rolls around, this will get ugly if it's not corrected.
