I've watched the tape of that TD run at least a dozen times, and of course in person. Typical NU fan - I keep trying to make excuses for why he was seriously pulling away from the two closest pursuers - 'the guy was off balance, he gave up, whatever'. Plain and simple, they guy can run. Don't know about elusive, but he's fast. Not sure even Micah Hyde would catch him

Yeah I'm surprised there hasn't been more conversation about that. He was MUCH faster than I imagined.

Definately not elusive as his early tendency is to stand straight up and stop or slow down prior to impact. Not sure if he can change his style but he could learn from persa colter basenez or zustoc. Doesnt have to take the biggest hit but he is gonna get clocked if he doesnt slide or lunge instead of giving a shoulder or almost stopping, it seems to me.

Thorson's speed is listed at 4.6 the same as Alviti. I get very tired of folks on this board throwing superlatives on Alviti's running ability. Matt showed me nothing to that effect last year. Granted it was a small sample and yes the opponent surely knew hew would run it, but he appeared very tentative and frankly just not that great of a runner. He maybe, but as yet I have not seen that ability.
