He had a great game against Minny, but when he starts hitting our backs and receivers in stride instead of making them turn back so far to make the catch, he's going to be deadly and the Cat's are going to be very tough to stop. Vitale is a guy that he routinely makes turn all the way around to make catches. This of course creates a fraction of a second to make the adjustment and then Dan doesn't get the yards he should after the catch. I am not complaining in any way because as a RS Freshman I think he's playing very well.

Basically in agreement with all of the above. However, keep in mind that one reason why "Dan doesn't get the yards he should" is because -- in a few instances anyway -- Dan has already run out the back of the End Zone. ;)

Personally I think one of the great things I've seen about CT is that he's shown improvement in each game. If he can do so again in a hostile Michigag environment, and not allow any of Harbag's tactics to get into his head, he could actually emerge from Saturday's game as the better quarterback. Now wouldn't THAT be fun?? :)

On a couple of those throws to Vitale, I got the feeling that Vitale was so open that Thorson tried to place it with a soft touch. In doing so, the ball lost velocity and was slow in arriving. It worked so...

"Young QB needs to refine his throws slightly."

Shocker.

It's not all Thorson either. Timing is as much the responsibility of the route runner as the passer. I have not studied film, nor do I know enough about route trees and timing to say our receivers are not precise enough, but it's a systemic phenomenon more than anything. For CT, his challenge is discovering the right velocity/trajectory for these throws. The arm strength is not an issue.

Good thought Deering in that like a pitcher fails in baseball when he tries to guide it to home as opposed to throwing it. BTW sorry to hear about your accident and I wish you well in your recovery!
