I'm going to be talking to executive director Jacob Schmidt (good ol' No. 39) again tomorrow to get an update on the TrueNU Collective, which is publicly launching its website soon. In the meantime, here are a few tidbits I learned:
- They recently hit $1.2M in support. That's pretty good considering they don't even have a formal donation process.
- They have formally partnered with seven charities so far, and are planning many more.
- They will start "onboarding" the football program this month. (Remember, they want to work with athletes in their sport's offseason.)
- They've thus far supported athletes from three Wildcat teams "in major ways."
- The website will allow fans and/or alumni to donate directly to the collective.
