YOU HAVE TO WIN YOUR HOME GAMES!

Shelly had no business taking all those attempted 3s. He couldn't hit the broadside of a frickin barn.

Ridiculous!!

Collins needs to get his team to play better. Cats can play much better than this. Lots of great potential.

But same Northwestern. Not winning the home games they ought to win.

Agreed. Just putrid shooting. it is appearing perhaps like a wait till next year year. Hope I'm proven wrong

Relax. It's a long season. Northwestern is going to win their fair share of games. Purdue has lost at home. Indiana has lost at home twice. Maryland lost at home. Ohio State has lost at home. It's a very competitive league. Northwestern has plenty of opportunities left to beat good teams.

You should try the 24 hour rule my friend. As well as we shot at the beginning of the game, we shot poorly at the end and it ended up costing us.

Hey, Purdue just lost a home game -- to Minnesota. Indiana has already lost TWO at home. These same Gophers already lost at home, too. It happens. It's a tough loss, but if they win one on the road, it evens out. It's a long season.

I get the sentiment Catbeast because I feel it too. In theory we're going to win our share of games because we are better and we'll have enough games where we play better. But in reality we've seen SO MANY blown winnable games through the years, including THREE potential program changers this year (Butler, ND, tonight) that well ...... if we're waiting for things to even out, we might win the next 50 or 60 in a row.

I'm sure the frustrations we feel are felt x1000 by the players, who certainly seem to be pressing in late game situations. I hope they can figure it out by Sunday.

Unfortunately, 8-8 probably isn't going to get it done in the B1G. That means we need to hold serve at home the rest of the way and get two (more likely three road wins). That's a tall order that's going to have to start this Sunday at Nebraska with better shooting by Scottie and better decisions by Skelly.

Look, we played a team that will be in the top-25 next week, a team that beat Purdue on the road by about 10 points. Minnesota this year is not last year's team. They stuck with us in the first half when open shots were plentiful for both schools and played terrific defense in the second half, allowing (funneling) Skelly to take the three as opposed to Tap and Lindsey. They played like they had scouted the poop out of NU tonight...don't let Lindsey, Law or Mac to get an open three. They also were familiar with our passing patterns on offense as evidenced by turnovers in the first half.

Getting to the tournament will require us to beat a giant clog of teams rated from 25th to 60th in RPI or whatever ranking one chooses. We're gonna have to earn it with good coaching and team play. A disappointing loss (to a much better Minnesota team this year who is tearing it up right now) but no reason to get down on the team. It's gonna be a wild ride this season. Hopefully, we are tough enough and shrewd enough (CCC) to pick up the 10-12 wins we need to grab the prize.

Some encouraging things in this game: 1) Mac broke out of his slump. 2) I was also blown away by Pardon's shots and moves on offense. Have we seen him hit a shot beyond the FT line until tonight? He finished with 9 points (4-6, 1-2) and 8 rebounds, even though he had some difficulty rebounding with tape on his hand. 3) our FT shooting was excellent tonight, continuing our good shooting for the year.
