I have been on the UM Rivals board and find very little mention of our game. I hope their team also takes the game that lightly.

Interestingly their injured Linebacker from last week was quoted as saying he wished he could be there to play a team on the same level as Michigan - Michigan State. Please don't let the Wolverine players find this thread. They have been working hard all week reviewing film from Michigan State games in preparation for playing the Spartans this Saturday.

Nobody Many posters on the Michigan free board. They are not over looking this game. Northwestern is a top 15 team. Teams don't look past a team that is ranked higher than them

I work with several michigan fans and they are only talking about State. They think we have a secent football team but feel confident. The line is now +10 so most sport fans agree. Prior to the maryland shutout michigan didnt get any hype. But maryland sucks balls. So i hope we go in there and take care of business.

I'm not sure how many consecutive years of success NU needs before casual fans look at the "Northwestern" on the schedule and don't think "winnable game."

Players are different. I seriously doubt they're taking this game lightly because it's "just Northwestern."

I do know that tickets for the game are now $250 per or so I'm told.
And don't think Harbaugh will let them overlook the game.

That's because UM fans are as delusional as ND fans and ignore reality even when they suck for most of an entire decade.

Three. I sincerely believe the answer is three consecutive years. We've not had three in a row in...well...ever. And we haven't beaten Michigan since 2008, when freshmen players hadn't yet hit puberty.

I would not blame Michigan players for overlooking NU (although I have no doubt Harbaugh has them focused)...they fielded absolutely mediocre teams the last two years and still brought back-to-back wins home with them to Ann Arbor...and now they actually have a high-performing head coach firing on all cylinders. The media has already decided who's won this game. The burden is on our team to change the narrative.
