Tonight was unbelievable for three different types of toughness:
1) mental toughness. Maryland jumped out to an early lead and got up by 10 in the second half. I thought we were done. Each time the Cats came back. It was simply remarkable;
2) defensive toughness. Do I need to say more. Even Mr. Brown is playing tough defense or is trying to do so. Remarkable;
3) Physical toughness. With 5 mins left, Maryland looked exhausted and we were still fighting. I recall one play with a couple of minutes where Scottie just went right to basket and used his leverage/power to get a layup or a short bank shot. Benson, Skelly and Pardon back down from no one.We can take and give a punch. Quite remarkable.
4) Rebounding. Everyone rebounds. Many times I saw that two of our guys were getting the ball. Vic, Sanjay and Dererk totaled 20 rebound. Again, we out rebound a team. Incredibly remarkable.
Get to listen to the game tomorrow since I will be on the road. Sigh. Go Cats!
