Lamont Atkins is the three-star running back and Vandy commit who picked up an offer from NU last week. I was supposed to talk to him last night, but he had second thoughts. He DM'd me that he "would love to do a story regarding NU but I don't think I should do it while I'm still committed to Vanderbilt out of respect to Coach Mason and his staff." And I get that. He just visited Vandy over the weekend and had a great experience. However, reading between the lines, I think it also means that he's interested in NU. He just doesn't want to go public with it. I understand that, too. It would be disrespectful to talk about how much the NU offer means and what he likes about the program when he's still a Commodore. So, we left it that he would keep in touch. I'll bet he at least visits Evanston at some point.
