Northwestern will be welcoming several prospects to Ryan Field to watch the Wildcats take on Penn State on Saturday.
Here is a partial list of some of the major names expected. Once again, all is quiet on the 2016 front. I have yet to connect with any sources, but will continue to add to this list as I learn about more:
2017
Tackle Joel Honigford of Sugarcreek (Ohio) Garaway has been on Northwestern’s radar for quite some time and could be in line for an offer soon -- perhaps this weekend. The 6-foot-6, 263-pounder picked up an offer from Duke yesterday to add to his first, from Miami (Ohio). Honigford has also drawn interest from a slew of other Big Ten programs, including Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State and Wisconsin.
Three-star quarterback Chris Katrenick is a local prospect from Algonquin (Ill.) Jacobs who has a single offer at this point, from Virginia. Northwestern currently has offers out to five 2017 quarterbacks; Katrenick could be on the Wildcats’ second tier.
Athlete Kyle Nunn of Findlay (Ohio) just picked up an offer from Northwestern, his first, on Saturday, and he is very excited to take his first trip to Evanston, as I wrote earlier this week. The Wildcats are recruiting Nunn as an outside linebacker, though other programs are looking at him as a safety, and at least one as a wide receiver.
2018
Cornerback Reggie Pearson of River Rouge (Mich.) figures to be one of the top prospects in Michigan, if not the Midwest, in 2018. The 5-foot-10, 180-pound sophomore already has offers from Akron, Central Michigan and Eastern Michigan. He's visited Michigan and will visit Iowa on Nov. 14.
Basketball
Shooting guard Myles Hanson of Chaska (Minn.) will be taking an unofficial visit to Northwestern this weekend. The 6-foot-5 prospect has an offer from Northern Iowa and interest from a host of mid-majors.
