They are licking their chops. But oftentimes, opponents find a way to blow it when they have a monkey on their back.

It’ll be an interesting transitive battle to determine if NU is better than Jacksonville State.

Throw out the records when NU hosts UTEP, though in this case both are 0-1.

UTEP is technically 1-1 after beating top 10 (FCS) Incarnate Word. (It counts for bowl purposes.)

Incarnate Word is better than SIU was last season.

UTEP's play also reminds me of Fitzball (with Hank). The difference is that the head coach (Dimel) insists on calling plays (as he did at KSU) and sometimes he makes boneheaded calls at the end of the game that lose close games instead of win them (see Jacksonville State).

So I think UTEP has a good chance, but it won't be a blowout either way.

We’re currently -1.5 on MGM. There is a chance we end up a home dog … to UTEP.

I have not seen UTEP play, but I do not feel like NU played so poorly that they should be the underdog in this game. I feel there is a lot of room for improvement from week one to week two. Not so much to win a Big Ten game, but I feel two wins this season is where we will be.

I saw UTEP play Jax State; UTEP looks faster and more physical than the Cats did yesterday, especially on defense. I see the game as a toss-up.
