Thanks Fitz. We are on a trajectory to match our consecutive losses record teams of the 90's. Well done, sir.
Thirty-five years ago this month I went to my first Northwestern football game. We lost to Michigan State 38-0 and we were happy it was that close.
We're amost back at that point, folks. The only difference is back then I was hopeful that things would get better for the Cats in the future. I have no such hope now.

2020 wasn’t a fluke. That defense was for real and I saw it with mine own eyes.

Congratulating ourselves on the fine performance of our starters against their 3rd stringers in garbage time of a blowout is very, very Dark Ages.
If you ignore their 42 points we win going away 7-0.
2019 doesn't deserve to be in this category.
The defense was fine but the offense was a disastrous mess. We were still a competitive team.
We have nothing right now on either side of the ball.
2021 and 2022 are much worse than 2019.
I had a lot of hope after 2019, but none now.

2020 we had Mike Hankwitz. Not a fluke at all.
We entered the new Dark Ages when he retired. We didn’t have much of an offense. And now we have no defense after Hank left.
I asked last season how the Dark Ages felt any different than what we saw, which was miserable, non competitive football.

I attended NU in the Dark Ages. This is worse because back then we hadn't had much football success in a while and there really wasn't any expectation of victory. We are now getting blown out by FBS teams and 3rd tier teams when we actually had some expectations of being somewhat competitive- this is worse...
