We are hitting the portal for a QB this offseason

We could be in big trouble if he is committed to Jack no matter what.

In total I took Braun’s comments to mean “we aren’t gonna take a QB (or other positions) just to fill out the depth chart, but we will/would take one if it’s truly impactful.”

Basically it feels like Braun’s “bar” for considering transfer QBs better than Lausch+Boe is much higher than fans’.

NU’s gotta get some O-linemen and some WRs and a playable TE before it needs a quarterback.

NU makes the transfer game hard, but NU isn’t going to build anything hoping that seniors come together for one joyous year then leave, repeating the cycle.

Henning came in as a soph? Let’s see if NU can sign the entire All-MAC freshman OL, and build from there.

Henning was an atypical situation because he transferred in as a grad transfer with multiple years of eligibility.

I have difficulty watching NU but I will comment on one play. Henning ran a medium out to the right sideline but his cut was not sharp and the pass arrived at the same time as the DB. If Henning had made a sharp rather than a rounded cut or Lausch had a stronger arm, it is a completion rather than an incompletion , fortunate not to be an interception.

You build from the line out. We had a rather poor running game this season, not just poor QB play. Braun can get the best available portal QB, but if the overall quality of the offensive roster doesn't get better, it won't matter that much. The offensive line is everything.

It should be higher than fans and should be higher than Fitz's bar for transfer QBs as well.

If a buzzard had a bugle up it's ass...

I am not sure whether Rebel was referring to me as the "buzzard" but if your QB does not have a superior arm , it is critical that the WRs make hard cuts to gain separation to give a window for a completion. Watch NU receivers- soft cuts , no jab steps etc, this reflects on coaching and almost eliminates an effective short passing game
