Barring a collapse. Got to take care of business and win 3 more games to be safe. That one punched the ticket.
You got it right! That one punched the ticket.

To be comfortable, I agree.
But with a top 25 RPI road win in hand, 10-8 seems much more feasible, perhaps even a lock with a win in DC. That path would be Rutgers and Illinois + one of the lower tiers.

I certainly hope that the team doesn't believe that, or that they are even close to having "clinched" an AL bid. Don't get me wrong: it's a GREAT win, and it will help A LOT.That one punched the ticket.

But evidently, if the cats were to end in a 6-game losing streak, including losses to Rutgers and a 2nd to Illy (not to mention a second to Purdue, which wouldn't be that bad, but would hurt, plus to a coule of medicore B1G teams), they cannot possibly expect a bid.
This bid is NOT EVEN CLOSE to being clinched.

Need 2 wins
That stuff the announcers were saying at the start about now the Big Ten has nobody in the committee's top 16 has me worried. Can't help it. NU fan.

I'm not sure how to handle a home loss to Illinois and a road win against Wisconsin in the same week.

About three steps ahead of you. Working on four.

I wish I shared your prediction. Too much basketball left but I like our chances. If someone else can beat wisconsin, then we control our own destiny. Illinois was one that got away. That one punched the ticket.
If Sanjay, Pardon, Brown and Taphorn don't contribute offensively, we are going to lose most games. It's not a head scratching loss at all. We have played more consistently than almost any team in the conference but with Lindsey out, players other than Law and Bryant have to contribute meaningfully on the offensive end. And Illinois played very hard defensively and made plays at the end of the game. And Law and Bryant were gassed.Lot of factors: a) the Illini played way over their heads, like due to a special motivation they has (keepihg Groce's job?) b) we have seen during the season that it takes time to adjust when a team loses their leading scorer c) Wisky has a long winning streak in then BIG and at home that was going to end eventually in this era of parity d) Wisky was playing with fire of late against lesser teams who couldn't finish, and they finally played a good team who could finish e) that OT win vs, Nebby just 3 days ago, combined with a long trip back to Madison, set up the game well for us.
Agreed. A road win against against wisconsin in feb?!? That makes things easy for the selection committee. That one punched the ticket.
Taphorn made a huge difference tonight. He can be such a contributor out there with his three point shooting - and his length on defense.Well I will eat crow. I thought without Scottie we were toast. Thank heavens I was wrong. Hopefully Scottie is back for Maryland and let's go on a little winning streak to leave no doubt. Will be there on Saturday. Can't wait!!

Still got to take care of business bit as long as we do,it is a signature win that we neededThat one punched the ticket.

It was more on the D end that we got this victory. Yes we needed the O but we won on D. That was what was missing against IL. Held them to under 40%. 12 turnovers for WI vs 6 for us. Took away their inside game and forced them to beat us from outside. If Sanjay, Pardon, Brown and Taphorn don't contribute offensively, we are going to lose most games. I think two have to beat WI for us to control our destiny. They still only have two lossesI wish I shared your prediction. Too much basketball left but I like our chances. If someone else can beat wisconsin, then we control our own destiny. Illinois was one that got away.
