ESPN has a top game day atmosphere "tourney" going. OSU and PSU got the top two seeds and got byes. Here is what follows:

(8) Rutgers vs. (9) Minnesota

While are goal shouldn't be, "not the worst," I'm happy to see that we're not the worst despite have far less students, alumni, area alumni, and built in fan base of non-alums.

Best game day atmosphere

Games at Purdue and IU are awful -- no environment whatsoever, hardly any students, etc.

While we don't exactly "pack the house purple" every week, at least we can get the opposing fans to show up due to our proximity to Chicago. Nobody really wants to travel to West Lafayette or Bloomington, so Purdue and IU can't even count on that to boost the gates or environment.

Maybe it's because I've only been there around Thanksgiving and students were gone, but I would put us ahead of Illinois. I haven't been to Purdue recently, but when I was there stadium wasn't that bad. Got to imagine the last 3 years or so have killed it.

As good as MSU is on the field, I'd put at least Minnesota ahead of them. I went up to the NU-Minnesota game back in 2010 (great game) and thought it was a fun atmosphere in an extremely nice facility. MSU, on the other hand, has not impressed me much, despite a great on field product.
