WGN renews NU and Eanet

It's kind of interesting that WGN announces a renewal for both through '19-'20.

Phillips and Eanet are to be applauded for being able to keep basketball on such a major station. I can't believe the ratings are much of anything, and I can't believe the football ratings are so good that it makes up for 20+ basketball games.

That must be an interesting contract.

The popular rumor is that the Cubs are going to be starting their media network up in 2020. Though this is radio, of course, it's interesting that there's an extension now up through that same year. I'm guessing media carriage rights in the Midwest are going to be adjusted based on whatever ends up happening with the Cubs, especially if the next few years are as fruitful as the North Siders hope.

For now, though, anything that keeps Mr. Cat on the air is fine by me.
