What would be the harm (and I mean this in a positive non whiny way) of allowing Fitz one academic exception in each class? It would have to be a guy that he is willing to risk the team's academic reputation on and a guy he would likely have to monitor more closely. It just seems to me that occasionally he might identify a player who is intelligent enough but has not had either inspiration or structure or some other variable to excel academically.
I realize that many football players are admitted under far more lenient standards than general admissions allow but one player a year would be 5% and Fitz would have to be judicious in his offers with reason to believe that the players he chooses could pull it off.
So why not?
