It has not happened in a while that I can recall and OSU seems more vulnerable this year.

Shurna beat them with a buzzer beater in his Freshman year if I can recall. This is a team that has beaten us to a pulp over the years. I believe our last win in Columbus was 1977. We've lost a lot of close games since Matta has been there, including last year when D'Angelo Russell did a number on us. I am absolutely sick of losing to them.

Yep. A bunch of near misses over the past 10 meetings since the Shurna shot:

2014-15: 67-69

2012-13: 59-69 (@ #13 OSU), 53-63 (#16 OSU) - Both games were super tight until the last 2 mins

2011-12: 73-75 (#10 OSU)

2010-11: 57-58 (#1 OSU), BTT: 61-67, OT (#1 OSU)

2008-09: 47-52 (@ OSU)

I still can't get that one-handed, spinning bounce pass he fired against us out of my head.

Sullinger and his buddies in the zebra shirts getting us at the Big Ten Tournament is my "favorite," though the 2009 game in Columbus where Evan Turner snuffed out any NCAA hopes we had left was fun, too. I've been following this team too closely for too long.

When Craig Moore converted that 4 point play to tie it with under 5 mins to play, I was convinced the 'Cats were going to finally pull off a win in C-bus. That loss was heart breaking way to close the 08-09 regular season. Win it and I'm firmly believe the 'Cats would have made the dance. Had a good resume bolstered by multiple top 20 road wins. Would have got a more favorable match up in the BTT too. Sigh...

That was insane.
Honestly, all kidding aside....

I joke around here a lot and say stuff for shock value and to keep all you boring stiffs agitated and therefore alive and all that...

But there's a reason we watch sports. It's for the RIDICULOUS moments you see every now and then. Devon Hester's missed FG return (before it became passe...) Tiger Woods's chip in on #16 at Augusta. That Walter Payton run against Kansas City... Dr. J's under the basket reverse layup that is the only reason anybody remembers the name Mark Lansberger... Danny Sullivan at Indy... Buster Douglass... Mike Weaver/John Tate (for you old timers) ... Reggie's 3 homer game in the '77 World Series... Basically everything about MJ. ...

The OH MY GOD plays....

And that pass was one of them. Never seen anything like it. Probably never will. Holy Crap.

This is one of the few "down" years for dOSU in recent memory. By down, they aren't 12-1 and ranked in the top 10. They're still very talented though inexperienced. They are ripe for the taking. I hope we bring our A game and take it to them.

It’s been a bit of a struggle, seemingly since the beginning of time. My first years of witnessing the basketball Cats play the Buckeyes came when Jerry Lucas and John Havllcek were dominating the Big Ten. During my six seasons on campus we lost the first 7 times we played OSU, and then won 3 in a row --- scoring 95 and 100 the in the last two meetings. Okay then, got that monkey removed from our shoulder blades, and I assumed we had it all figured out. Then I completed my Masters and went on with my life. And it’s been mostly downhill since then.
