Who all is heading to Salt Lake City?

I'll be there with an NU alum friend.

I'm checking StubHub for tix but I'm not loving the deals so far. I don't really want to fly there without tix secured though.

You can still buy directly from the venue, but the best seats available are $66 + fees in the nosebleed corners.

I would be making the the shirt three hour drive down but, alas, my dad passed on Friday and I'm back in the Midwest for his services and other related activities. But I will find a couple of hours to watch the NU game, you can be sure.

Sorry to hear that. My condolences. Having lost my father a few years back, I know this is a tough time. I hope the Cats can brighten things up a bit for you.

Terribly sorry to hear about your loss.

KCoble44, having you on the board here and back in the NU family is the cherry on top of the giant sundae this season has been.
I'm flying to Connecticut for my mom's 80th, or I'd be there too.

I will be there as well. From my social circles, sounds like we should have a decent overall showing of purple in SLC!

In. Anyone with SLC familiarity have knowledge of a good pregame gathering spot for the night before?

Alas, my flight gets in close to midnight so I won't be able to partake and March Madness eve activities...

I have been to this place and it is pretty damn good, especially if you have low expectations because it's Salt Lake City. My memory is a bit foggy about the night, so I can't tell you how big the place is with precision. However, I do remember there were at least 25 work colleagues there sitting at high top tables in the front section of the establishment.

The whiskey pours are measured very carefully and you cannot order doubles, but aside from these inconveniences, I can vouch this is a very good place. If you download the drink menu you will see it's at least 10 pages long, with at least 20 beers on tap. The food is good too.

I used to do a lot of work in SLC; you'll be surprised at how good the food and drink scene is. There are several inexpensive Mexican places; you can get good Mexican in Chicago, but I can't get good Mexican in Manhattan.

One other point to note - I have NEVER seen a town in the US with lower Uber fares.

I will as well; with my dad, and meeting one other NU friend. Sectio 6 - splurged. I hope it's near NU fans! I thought it might be behind our bench but not sure.

Given I am bringing my 81 year old dad, I feel very blessed and am very sorry for your loss, IdahoAlum.

Terribly sorry to hear. I miss my dad every day

I reckon that there will be a large number of well-known alums there and other hangers-on. Like the rose bowl and cubs WS.

Given Vandy is also far away, small school, been there before, not extraordinary season, I expect a strongly pro NU crowd.

Sending good thoughts your way, Idaho. I hope you're as at peace as can be expected.

Sorry for your loss Idaho, I wish my Dad were here to see what his Cubbies and Wildcats have done.

I'll be there Thurs as well, section 131. My plan doesn't land til after 1pm, but that should be plenty of time to make the game. On a side note, it was crazy watching the travel/accommodation prices just skyrocket/fill up as soon as the brackets started being announced.

I'm sorry for your dad passing away. That's a tough loss.

Looking forward to being there for the first annual Northwestern NCAA basketball tournament!

Thank you all for your kind thoughts. And Go Cats!
Would like to add my condolences , Idaho. My dad passed away a few years ago and sure wish he could have been there and watched his Cubbies win the World Series. Take care.
