From what appears to be an NU alum. Tweeting at our recent commitment and other members of the 2023 class encouraging them to look elsewhere. Honestly, I frequently think we have the worst fan base in the country.

Every fanbase has its malcontents. That guy (and another twitter account named @NUFBCritics) are ours on twitter. And we have a couple people around here that weren't happy when we were winning and are running wild now that we're losing.
Regardless, every fanbase has this element, best to ignore it and pretend it doesn't exist. Trolls feed off attention.

Completely agree but we seem to have more than our fair share given how small a fan base we have. My problem is that I am pretty sure those morons trolling Fitzgerald and NU on Twitter post on this board. I want to see if they have the courage to take credit for that tweet.
It's AyanKB from InsideNU's twitter account, he's a real jackass.
As far as I can tell, he does not. And he has a very clear posting style if you ever look on InsideNU, so it would be apparent if he did.

I think you should take a look at the poster that posts under RyanField124. My money is that it’s the same guy. This is Supposed to be a board for NU fans, not haters. I implore you and Lou to sweep out the trash permanently.
If his honest opinion is that the best thing for the program is a change of the coach, why is that worthy of a permanent ban? I think Fitz deserves a chance to turn things around, but I can't look back at the last two seasons and say that he's doing a good job right now. The debacle with the DC was a problem entirely of his own choosing.

Because there are posters on here who do nothing but rip on NU every chance they get. It’s not balanced. Those are not NU fans and have no business posting on a private board for NU fans.
He’s a resident troll from InsideNU whose primary goal is to get Fitz and Collins fired ASAP so we can “do better.” My personal nemesis when I venture over to that site, at least keeps things interesting.
NU fans are allowed to be dissatisfied with the state of the program and still be fans. This is not a board for pollyanas only. There is no chance that RyanField124 is the same guy, Ayan is an obsessive poster and would be posting on every thread.

The 'tude of the mods seems to be "accept everything until you are forced." Other teams' boards won't put up with half the crap this board accepts.
Cappy felt he had to explain himself for sweeping out a recent troll, even though the dude was wearing a blinking, neon troll sign.
Now that the team is where it is, we're gonna get more of these suckasses, too.
If the mods could just get us an ignore tool so that when you ignore one of these mofos, you never have to see their name again, then we could do the sweeping ourselves.

There is a difference between dissatisfied, constructive criticism and non stop negativity. When the only time a poster posts is to be critical of NU and FItz, then they are not really an NU fan. I get it, there are people out there that are not happy unless they are perpetually in a miserable state of mind. I am not one of those people and I don’t enjoy interacting with those kind of people There are at least a dozen posters on this site that are allowed to post regularly that would have been long ago banned by any other Big Ten Message Board.

You know that deleting the offending posts does not make the problem go away. I noticed that was your solution to another blatantly anti NU post on another thread on the free board. This is the equivalent of sticking your head in the sand. The trolls are still here and they are negatively impacting the board experience. I am not the only poster who feels this way.

I think the Pollyannas who want NU to play football like it’s 1943 and prefer McMahon and Bortles to Marino and Rodgers are ruining the board experience.

I don’t care what they do on this board as long as they can take the shots as well as they give them out. However, tweeting nonsense to an incoming recruit leaves no doubt you are in the Jackass category.
Damn my uncle lost to Stanford and John Elway back in 1982 and the next week in Columbus, they were passing out Dump Earle Bruce buttons. You will always get the overly involved crying for a coaches head. My stance is give Fitz two years to get things back on track, then if he doesn't, he is toast. He will probably finish his contract regardless, but the program will be in a deep hole if he has two more disasterous seasons. If it is true that he might have hobbled Bajakian, he needs to stop and let the man run his offense. My beef with Fitz is why stick with the ball control stuff, when that era has passed for about 3 decades.

I don't have any problem with ball control. If he wants to be Iowa, fine. But it's impossible without a defense, special teams and an offense that can, you know, control the ball.
Iowa hasn't gone 4-20 in any 2 year stretch lately
I never liked the argument of “free speech” on here. It is a football board not a Washington Post reporter trying to route out corruption in government. The negative posts has driven good fans away. It was a much better board when we were not going to bowl games consistently and losing when we did. I can dismiss a troll but others cannot and because of that, we have seem good people not post. We cannot control tweets but anyone who tells any potential student not to come to NU is not a fan of the school and therefore should not be on this board. Criticize the coach but don’t sabotage our future.
This isn't Twitter, and nobody since I have been a regular poster in here has done anything like what this guy did. There are standards that are in place. I mean Turk got banned, so there is a red line.
