Who was NU's MVP this year?

I haven't seen this issue batted around on the board, but it's a good question.

Was it Bryant McIntosh, the guy who ran the offense, made the All-Freshman team and led NU in assists?
Was it Tre Demps, the go-to guy in crunch time and the team's leading scorer?
Or was it Alex Olah, the guy that could sometimes dominate a game, led the team in rebounding and was second in scoring?

Who gets your vote?

Olah. He was the only inside presence for NU. If he isn't playing, NU doesn't win a single Big 10 game.

Demps was probably the best player though.

Not saying it's my vote, but one could also argue Jershon Cobb. It seems like the results were often better when he played, so despite low playing time, he may have been the most valuable.

I probably agree with you, though it's damn hard to pick someone other than Demps.

NU's February surge corresponded with Demps'.

There are a lot of definitions of MVP -
Best all around player (Cobb, had he been healthy)
Most unique player (Olah, who was irreplaceable)
Guy with the ball (Mac)
Most consistent player (geez, I don't know who - Olah maybe? )


I think the combination of 'he got better and the team started winning' and those three threes against Michigan earns the vote for Demps.

Olah
Mac

Maybe Law would be fourth. Or maybe Cobb was less injured than I remember, and he would be fourth.

Either way, the top three were the most irreplaceable, the most consistent (though Mac dropped off late), and the largest contributors. Huge drop off after the top three.

No way. We started winning when he wasn't even playing. In fact, it was Taphorn's return from injury that coincided with the winning streak.
