Women on BTN tonight

I'm watching the game now. The women looked scrappy closing out the first half against the Buckeyes with some 3 pointers and causing turnovers they converted to points to narrow the gap to 3.

Down to a 2-pt lead for Ohio State, about midway through the 3rd quarter.

The Buckeye coach (who unfortunately somehow reminds me of Pitino) has just been T'd up. He seems to believe the coaching box is for lesser mortals.

Lots of blown opportunities at the end of the 3rd Qand some questionable charging call on the Cats. (Have to get used to games with 4 Q's again.)

Great game, albeit a loss, 94-87. Lack of depth hurt us as we were down a starter and reserve due to injuries. Congrats to Ashley Deary on becoming the all-time BIG steals leader tonight; with a half-season to go, she will obliterate the prior record. If you have ever seen her play, she is truly something special; unlike any player I have ever seen before, male or female.

Which two players are injured and are those injuries long-term?

Lydia Rohde (starter) and Pallas Kunayi-Akpanah. Both were in walking boots this evening. Don't know how long they will be out. Also, Oceana Hamilton the Alabama transfer who was also starting has played limited minutes in the last two game; thinking that it might be related to an illness and related stamina issues.

Lauren Douglas has stepped in for Rohde, and a combination of players has stepped in for Hamilton, with not much drop off from the starting five. In fact, Abi Scheid caught fire tonight with 20 points, so I suspect that she will start for Hamilton in the next game (Allie Tuttle started this evening).

The problem is is that Scheid and Douglas were providing quality depth off the bench, and it showed tonight, as we were just gassed in the 4th quarter versus OSU's uptempo offense.
