Then later in the day, the 8th-ranked 2020 player in Illinois, Simeon offensive lineman Marcus Harper, unexpectedly decommitted, leaving only 2 comitts so far in the 2020 football class, Every team in the BIG has more except for Indiana (2) and lowly Rutgers (1).
For teams trying to dig out of a hole, recruiting is key, imo. So just a tough, tough day for them, though January not making grades was expected and the Illini already recruited a project committ as a backup, but he is not signed yet since they are reportedly slowplaying him to see if they can make up for the January loss with a grad transfer...
