Yes, and in that order, too, IMO. While I wouldn't call our rebounding a strength, I would say it's better than when we were in a 1-3-1 all the time. That press break, though, has been cringe-worthy on more occasions than it hasn't. It almost seems like teams - especially the more athletic ones - sort of keep the press in their back pocket, ready to break out if necessary late in games. Against a team that had the athletes to press us for a good portion of the game, I can't help but think that we'd be in a sh*tload of trouble. Not sure what kind of ballhandler Isaiah Brown will be, and I haven't seen enough of Ash to have a good feel for his handle, but I'm hoping they'll eventually be able to help shore up our ability to break the press. Some of our more knowledgeable posters may have noticed other things, but to me, dealing with full or three-quarter court pressure has been our most glaring weakness this season.1. Press break

In my days on the hard court, I remember practicing breaking the press for hours and under some pretty good coaches, like Ed badger for instance. He would have the first string running against at least two and sometimes three other units and preached the ball should not touch the floor. In fact my H.S. coach also insisted that we should break the press by passing, not dribbling. At the college level, bad teams try to dribble break a press. Good teams pass break a press to open up dribble opportunities and make teams pay for pressing them. We do not do a good job of recognizing or executing how to break a press.
On what planet is Vic Law better than Olah, Demps, and McIntosh based on what we saw from his actual play on the court?5. Our best player (Law) spent another entire game on the bench.
So what's new about that? Our best player is always injured. Why would any top player want to come to NU if the curse will just strike him down.

Are you sure that is the correct photograph? I do not see any potholes on the court, And he does not appear to be complaining about anything. In a Wildcat Report exclusive, this intrepid reporter has located a heretofore unseen photo from Willy's playing days.,.
You mean Vitale?5. Our best player (Law) spent another entire game on the bench.
Au contraire regarding Shurna. Bad ankle sprain in the Mt. St. Marys game just before the start of his junior year in the BIG may have cost us an NCAA bid with Juice and Crawford also on the team. Although he played, Shurna really wasn't himself the rest of that season.I believe John Shurna played a relatively healthy four years. And Michael Thompson. And Craig Moore. And a whole host of others....
