I went to the game. There was a decent contingent of NU fans - mostly parents and a few local Alums. Great game with Lots of momentum swings. Duke is obviously good and it looked like an even match but NU retains its second gear that allowed the team to to rally in the second half the way championship teams do. Duke was in it until the final seconds. Although other programs have caught up, NU is first rate. KAH is a great coach although from watching from behind the NU sideline, her assistants were also very active in coaching and the team really hangs together. There was the quiet confidence from the team and the parents that NU was going to pull it out which happened.
NU didn't have dominatly fast players vs Duke but the women can run - wow like hockey -, Duke looked as fast. The reverse of Duke vs. NU Basketball traditions, the team with the close game, tourney toghness won by will power. My daughter and wife really enjoyed it.
Campus was abuzz with Duke - Syracuse atmosphere... but Duke had some fans show up too. Field not as nice as NUs but still a nice small stadium.
Never watched LAX until NU started winning but enjoy watching the team.
