Yes this is a no. 1 seed NU is playing.
But most of those 3P attempts have been minimally contested. Making an uncontested (or minimally contested) shot is like a FT. You can hit it or miss it the same, whether your opponent is ranked 351 or first. They are simply ice cold.

A ray of hope in a way...if they had shot treys reasonably well, like 5-11, good but not great, that would have been 12 more points, meaning a 6-pt deficit at half time. But that would have opened up other offensive possibilities, so the game may be about tied.

I'm surprised guys don't shoot 80% from three since making a minimally contested 3 is just like a free throw. I think it's safe to say you never played competitive basketball

READ AGAIN.
The point is that the OPPONENT, whether #1 or #351, doesn't have much to do with your hitting or missing the uncontested shot. If you have a good shooting night you will make a lot of them, or miss a lot otherwise. If it is UNCONTESTED the opponent is out of the equation.

Get it, now?

Reflect on that point above. Even with all the refs problems, if we have had a semi-normal 3P shooting day in the first half, that'd more than make up for the deficit at the end of the game. Just 4-11 (instead of 1-11) meant 9 more points, enough for the win and a S16 appearance. Oh well.
