- Who would have thought that Pete Nance and Ryan Young would have had better Tourney odds had they stayed? There is a chance both UNC and Duke miss the Tournament. Neither one have many Quad 1 games left to make their case.
- While I'm trying to temper expectations, whoever wins tonight's game will be the only remaining team capable of catching Purdue. I don't have unrealistic expectations on this front. I expect Purdue to right the ship and finish strong. However, we are two games back in the loss column and we own the first tie-breaker (head to head). Catching Purdue is improbable but not impossible (if we win tonight). If Purdue loses at Maryland, whoever wins NU/IU is gonna start applying some heat to the Boilermakers (pun intended).
- Thank you CCC for breathing life into a moribund NU sports program (at least as far as the two big sports). Prior to MBB making its run, I was as low on NU sports as I have been in decades. (Also, Fitz please get your $hit together.)
- I cannot believe I'm saying this but I'm worried about our ability to retain CCC. We will want him but will he want us? He could potentially be holding a Naismith Trophy at season's end. There are lots of programs with significantly lower recruiting obstacles. I guess we can worry about that later (but personally, I'm already worried).
