I just assumed that the offers are coming at the same time as they had for the past decade, but the earliest commits have come earlier as a result of the strides the program has made (on-field consistency, perceived program ceiling, facilities). With earlier commits and therefore fewer slots, scarcity has driven momentum for additional early commits.

Am I off-base? Is there an actual philosophy change to load up the class earlier?

I guess I assumed NU was a "late-starter" because fewer of NU's A-list kids actually chose NU.
