I am assuming that we'll get a full NU "home" court at AA - "Chicago's Big Ten team" branding and the like. Can anyone confirm? Have we seen the court yet?

Big game this week.

Yes. The pictures I have seen show full NU purple regalia, including the court from WRA. Here is a pic from the scrimmage (you can see the Chicago's Big 10 Team in the background):

Pretty sure it's the same design as last season- probably the same court too. They just replaced "Welsh-Ryan Arena" with "AllState Arena." Except "AllState Arena" is in white, not purple, so it's barely noticeable. That's well done since they're probably not getting anything out of AllState for the publicity.

Thanks for the detail. Excited to see it on Friday night. More excited to see the team, though.

Loyola may actually win this one. They arent as good but could beat us.

Loyola (MD) is Kenpom 257. (We're 38.) They finished last year at 227. They *can* beat us, insofar as any team can beat any other team on any given day, but the odds of that happening are very, very low.

Before the scrimmage at AA, Collins said he wanted it to be a game-day rehearsal including all the arena goodies. So most everything seemed to be in place except a few things. For instance, the cheerleaders were there, the band wasn't.

Branding for everything was in place including static images on the outside signage and the expressway digital billboard. There are also some cheesy, generic NU banners in the rafters where the DePaul stuff was. No banners about last year's tournament or anything like that (and there shouldn't be). Just the purple logo and name in a couple places.

The one thing I thought was odd was that the main scoreboard above center court never had anything on it except a static NU logo. Meanwhile, the digital signage around the entire upper level seemed to work and change like any other game. For instance, players names and images popped up when each was announced. I assume there was some sort of glitch with the main scoreboard that will change for the regular season, but who knows.

A lot of things about AA are really bad, even compared to the past WR. Get ready for it. Personally, I just keep telling myself it's only one year. Throw out the ball, pay the front desk and I don't care about the rest of the stuff at our basketball Best Western (I won't go as low as Motel 6).

There's your over-analysis of the arena for the day. Is it time to play yet?

Yes. Beer covers a multitude of sins. And it may just increase the decibel level.

Interestingly, it is essentially the same design as WRA, but they ripped that one up and needed a new, special one that can be taken apart for hockey games. They will also need a new floor next year (duh). Three floors in three years. $$$$
