Most of us are aware of our involvement in the World Wars but today marks ANZAC Day in which Australia, New Zealand and the Island Nations commemorate the sacrifices of their people during those conflicts. Originally designed to honor the slaughtered at Gallipoli due to English command arrogance and incompetence, it now honors all who served, sacrificed and endured the horrors of those wars. The ceremony before the Queensland Reds and Auckland Blues game was moving and passionate , featuring a prayer. "Lest we not forget" It reminded me how easily we can bury the memories of these events. There is an old Aussie song "Waltzing Mathilda" that addresses how we forget
